Pull batteries and electric motor. Replace with Honda motorcycle engine in back. It weight under 2000 lbs
with
the batteries. I’m picturing a 1400lb track car that no one will see coming.

I reviewed a dead ringer for that car.

It would make a great daily driver. It has more pep than you’d expect thanks to the electric assist - not a whole lot, but more than a CRX HF did. The most surprising thing is the handling. It’s good! That comes from adding lightness. The first gen Insight has some sporting creds. It was built in the same factory as the NSX and S2000, and shares the S2000's steering wheel. The Insight is so much more like the CRX than the current CR-Z ever was.

Yes, get this and put a badass interior in it. There’s no other option.

Jesus, that’s insane!
I wouldn’t be surprised if some hypermilers have come up with carbon fiber panels and other weight-saving upgrades, too. I bet it could be dropped to the triple digits if you really dedicate yourself to it.

I’d have to put a new shift knob and boot in it - I’m thinking brushed alloy with the red stitched boot. Then add some newer seats with black leather and red/dimensions inserts with red stitch.

When I was curious about hypermiling and following those things, there were people who could average 150.
